Meeting Location

Our booking office and departure of our tours is at The Mad Dog Cafe & Market in Dead Man's Flats. We’re located approximately 7 km southeast of Canmore, Alberta, on the #1 Trans Canada Highway at Dead Man’s Flats.

Directions from Canmore

From Canmore, travel east on Highway #1 (Trans-Canada Hwy). Take the Dead Man's Flats exit. (Exit #98) Turn left onto George Biggy Sr Rd and cross the highway over the bridge. Take the 1st left toward 1st Avenue and turn right onto 1st Ave. The Mad Dog Cafe & Market will be on your right.

Distance from Canmore Town Centre: approx. 11 km, 12 min.

Transportation

Transportation for our tours is included from our booking office at the Mad Dog Cafe & Market. Hotel pick up from local Canmore hotels can be arranged.

We have 1 passenger van and can take up to 14 clients up to the trailhead with us. This space is usually reserved for those who do not have a vehicle or are not used to driving on winter roads at all. We offer this on a first come first serve basis and space must be booked in advance. Otherwise, you can meet us at the meeting location in Dead Man's Flats and follow the Van up to the trailhead if you are unsure of directions or you can self-drive to the trailhead directly and meet us up there.

Self-Drive Directions for Spray Lakes Tours

The Driftwood Boat Launch on the Spray Lakes is the trailhead for all of our Spray Lakes tours, which include:

If you do prefer to drive yourself to the trailhead, please let us know. This way, we are not waiting at the booking office for you

Directions: From Canmore, follow the signs to the Canmore Nordic Centre, then continue on highway 742 south (Spray Lakes Road/Smith Dorrien Highway). The Driftwood Boat Launch will be on your right, approx. 3 km after the beginning of Spray Lake.

Distance from Canmore Town Centre: approx. 22 km, 35 min.

Husky Dreamcatcher Tour - 1½ Hour Tour

Meeting Location

Boundary Ranch is just fifteen minutes south of Highway #1 on the Kananaskis Trail (Exit 118, Hwy. 40). It is located in the Kananaskis Valley, surrounded by the towering peaks of the Kananaskis Rocky Mountain Range. Five minutes from the hotels at Kananaskis Village, one hour from Banff or Calgary, and 30 minutes from Canmore.

Transportation

Transportation to Boundary Ranch is not included but may be arranged for groups from our booking office in Dead Man's Flats, or from Canmore at an additional charge.
